28 Jan 08 - First ride with the MTBDIRT guys - Bayview

I'm lucky, We live about 300 metres from an entrance to Bayview Conservation Park. I'd never explored it that much so when some of the forum members from MTBdirt decided to organise a ride there I was in! so my son Jake and I headed out to the Days Road entrance and met for the first time a great bunch of guys. Deon, DeanO, ODG, nucnud, MaxR, Rich the Stitch, Premevil and J1m led Jake and I throughout the many trails of Bayview. From memory about 30km in about 3 hours..

I came off the bike about 3 times including a spectacular high speed over the handle bars crash that was worthy of Funniest Home Videos at high (gotta love "the Rollercoaster"). Riding past later I could still see my face imprint.... When I hit the deck I distinctly recall thinking, "thank Christ I'm wearing this helmet..
